We're fundraising for Arlene Montalvo
Welcome to Arlene’s Army 💜
Arlene’s Army was created in honor of our mom, Arlene, whose strength, kindness, and unwavering love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was the heart of our family; the person who always put others before herself, offered encouragement when it was needed most, and made everyone feel loved and welcome.
Our lives changed when Arlene was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Like so many families, we quickly learned how devastating this disease can be. Despite every challenge she faced, she met each day with incredible courage, grace, and determination. Watching her fight inspired all of us, and her resilience continues to inspire us every day.
Sadly, Arlene wasn’t the first person in our family to face this disease. Years earlier, her older sister, our beloved Aunt Mi Mi (Mary Ann), also lost her life to pancreatic cancer. Losing two incredible women we loved to the same disease has left an immeasurable void in our family and strengthened our resolve to help change the future for others.
Although we have lost both our mom and Aunt Mi Mi, their love, compassion, and the impact they made on our lives will never fade. We created Arlene’s Army to celebrate our mom’s life, honor both of their legacies, and continue the fight against the disease that took them from us far too soon.
Every dollar raised through this fundraiser will benefit the Lustgarten Foundation, the nation’s largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research. By supporting groundbreaking research, we hope to help advance earlier detection, better treatments, and ultimately a cure… so that other families won’t have to experience the heartbreak ours has endured.
Whether you choose to donate, share our page, or simply keep our family in your thoughts, your support means more than words can express. Together, we can honor the memories of Arlene and Aunt Mi Mi by helping create a future where pancreatic cancer is no longer a devastating diagnosis.
Thank you for standing with Arlene’s Army and for helping us carry their legacy forward.
With gratitude,
The Montalvo’s (Roger Sr., Christian, Jimmy, Roger Jr. and Joey) 💜
