I’m running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon in honor of my Nannie, while partnering with the Lustgarten Foundation to raise money for pancreatic cancer research.
I lost my Nannie to pancreatic cancer when I was just six years old. Even at that age, I could see the devastating impact cancer had—not only on her, but on our entire family. She was a beautiful person, a loving grandmother and mother, and someone who left an incredible mark on everyone who knew her.
My Nannie spent her career as an elementary school teacher. After retiring, she continued doing what she loved by teaching part-time at the Salisbury Zoo in Maryland. Although I was very young when she passed, I still feel the hole she left in our family, and she is dearly missed.
Running the NYC Marathon in her honor gives me the opportunity to turn her memory into something meaningful. I’m proud to support the Lustgarten Foundation and its mission to drive bold, innovative research with the goal of transforming pancreatic cancer into a curable disease.
