Emily Kline: The Power of Love

Boston Walk

We're fundraising for Emily Kline: The Power of Love

This excerpt is by Emily Kline, my sister who died from Pancreatic Cancer.

“And so the journey continues. I realize that there are so many unknowns and cancer cures are an art form, not a science. I have to keep reminding myself that there is not much in life that is black and white but mostly gray.  So for now, I will live in the gray zone except for the one thing I feel absolutely clear and confident of, and that is the love that I feel for my friends and family − and that maybe be the best that one can know in life.”

Over 21 years ago, at age 51, on October 4th, 2005, Emily passed-away from Pancreatic Cancer. Her journey from life to death was a short one, a little over a year. Emily was a wonderful mother, accomplished business person, great listener and generous in spirit and action. She was very elegant, a beautiful dancer, and a great friend to me and others.

Although she was given a “death sentence” she was determined to live. She reached out to her family and friends for love and support and help in finding every available piece of information about treatment for Pancreatic Cancer.

I am participating in Lustgarten's Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research to celebrate the progress that has been made and to power tomorrow's research.

Why Lustgarten? They are the nation’s largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research. Thanks to separate funding of administrative expenses, 100% of our fundraising and your donation funds pancreatic cancer research - research led by Lustgarten and powered by you! With your support, we will raise more money for research advancements than we ever could alone.

Thank you. Love.
