We walk for Eric...
On December 7th, 2022, my dad, Eric, passed away after a courageous battle with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. He always was described as the life of the party, an adventurer who could talk anyone into trying something once, and a caring father/husband/friend who aways showed up for his people when they needed him. His laugh could fill a room, and his heart was even bigger.
Watching him fight with every ounce of his being, while still finding ways to bring joy and courage into our lives, changed me forever. He wasn’t supposed to leave us this soon, but I walk in his honor so that fewer families have to experience the same heartbreak.
I walk because he deserves to be remembered. I walk because pancreatic cancer research desperately needs more funding and awareness. I walk because he taught me to always show up for the people you love, and this is one way we can continue showing up for him.
Every step I take is for my dad, and for all the dads, moms, siblings, and friends we’ve lost too soon. ♥
