Witness Groatness

Albany Walk

We're fundraising for...

In October 2023, our family received news that would change our lives forever—our father was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic pancreatic cancer. Since then, we’ve watched him fight this disease with unimaginable strength, courage, and hope. His journey has been incredibly difficult, but it has also shown us the power of love, community, and resilience.

This September, we’re channeling that hope into action by participating in the Albany Walk for Research on September 7, 2025, to raise funds for the Lustgarten Foundation, the nation’s largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research.

We’ve created a team—Witness Groatness—as a tribute to our dad and to everyone who is currently battling or has been lost to this devastating disease. Our team name is a play on our last name, Groat, and a celebration of the greatness of our father’s spirit and the support system surrounding him.

The Lustgarten Foundation is dedicated to funding innovative research to improve early detection, treatment, and—ultimately—a cure for pancreatic cancer. Their impact is real and far-reaching. By supporting this fundraiser, you're not only honoring our dad’s fight, but you're also helping to bring hope to thousands of families facing the same diagnosis.

We are asking for your help. Whether it’s a donation, sharing our story, or joining us at the walk, every bit of support makes a difference. Together, we can stand up to pancreatic cancer—with purpose, with unity, and with love.

Thank you for supporting Witness Groatness and for believing in a future where no one has to face this disease alone.

With gratitude,
The Groat Family 💜
