Notes on site mechanics
Thursday 29th Aug
Here's some FAQs on confusing site features/mechanics.
Question: Who do I contact for questions about this fundraiser or when meeting up the day of the event?
Answer: I can be reached at 720-500-4974. You can either call or text (preferred). Be sure to include your name in the message.
Question: Why are there two places to donate? E.g. My profile page and the Team page.
Answer: If you send someone your personal profile page, they can donate there and you will be given "credit" for that donation (it'll show up as "Raised so far..." on the Team page team members section). However, a person can directly donate to the Team page as well. So, either case works, it's just more a "credit/attribution" feature. You can donate to your own profile or the team one as well.
Question: Where do I find information on the walk?
Answer: Click on the "Denver Walk" link near the username (if on a user profile) or near the team name (if on the team profile). If you're on the mobile version of the site, for some reason this disappears, but I was able to find the walk info by just tapping on the "Lustgarten" logo at the top of the page.
Question: How to join our team?
Answer: If you would like to join our team, click on the "My Team" link near a user's profile name (assuming you're on a user profile). On the team page there's a "Join Us" link prompting you to register. You can sign up there.
Question: How do I register my children or on someone else's behalf?
Answer: Note that you can register others and manage their accounts when registering, but it's a bit confusing, and if you forget to do this during your registration you can't add them later. Here's how to do it: After entering your information during registration, the next section should be about registering others. You can click the "Add" button to add someone else. If you select the "I wish to manage this account" checkbox, you will be able to manage their account for them from your menu on the top right menu once your account is created, it'll say "Switch Users". If you don't select this checkbox, I'm not actually sure what actually happens lol. I'm guessing it sends them an email to finish registering. Also, unfortunately you can't delete your account and "start over" if you've skipped this process the first time around...ya, I know ಠ__ಠ
