We're fundraising for Sidney and Charlotte Stern
In 2007, my grandfather Sidney Stern was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. For most this would have been a death sentence. But due to an incredible surgeon and team at Columbia Presbyterian, the support of his wife Charlotte (who herself was a breast cancer survivor), some prayers at the Western Wall and a lot of luck, he survived.
My family learned about the Lustgarten Foundation, which is the largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research, and participated in two of their walks over the past 10 years. 100% of the funds raised go directly towards research that is critical for early detection and treatment. We recognize that our grandfather’s story is, unfortunately, not the norm, and that significantly more research is needed for the outcome of the prognosis to be more hopeful.
We invite you to join us to walk in New York City on April 21, support the mission of this incredible organization by donating generously and as a result, provide hope for many families that are devastated by this tragic disease.
And what’s with the team name, you might ask? My grandmother’s chicken soup could really heal anything. So on the 10th anniversary of both of their passings, the thought of her soup brings joy and hope to our hearts.
