Just one year ago, I lost my sister to pancreatic cancer.  Four months later a beloved brother in law. Unfortunately, I also lost my mom to pancreatic cancer in 2010. 

Prior to my mom‘s passing, pancreatic cancer was just a word. Very few people I knew died from pancreatic cancer. We had heard how bad Pancreatic Cancer was, but never realized how quickly most people succumbed to the disease. Since my mother’s passing, they have been many celebrities that have been diagnosed pancreatic cancer. This helped bring it into the limelight, but we need so much more research to be able to diagnose and treat this disease much sooner.

 I am participating in Lustgarten's Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research to celebrate the progress that has been made and to power tomorrow's research.
