4 year survivor!!
I am participating in Lustgarten's Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research to celebrate the progress that has been made and to power tomorrow's research.
My journey started in 2022 when I had upper GI pain. After much investigation and misdiagnosis, a biopsy revealed I had pancreatic cancer. I was 49 years old.
I am fortunate that my cancer was stage 1 and responded very well to chemo. I had whipple surgery, more chemo and participated in a clinical trial.
I know firsthand how important research is for this disease. Great strides are being made and more people are being diagnosed earlier.
We have a long way to go, but we are moving in the right direction.
We must be the stewards of hope and raise awareness, funds and spirits. I have been walking with Lustgarten for 3 years now and I am grateful and humbled by the work they fund.
