It's a Family Affair
My sister and I lost both of our parents- Robin and Fred- to this devastating disease within just four and a half months of each other; in August 2023 and January 2024, respectively. And yet, this is about something so much bigger than just our own individual family.
Pancreatic cancer is an insidious illness that often does not present symptoms until its later stages. More research is required to make the necessary advancements in prevention, screening, and early detection, as well as treatment. Witnessing my mother and father- as well as my grandmother back in 2010- succumbing to this unusually aggressive and rapidly progressing form of cancer has motivated me to raise awareness and resources for this critically important research for the rest of my life. I never want another family to endure what we have in the span of just a few short years.
We choose The Lustgarten Foundation year after year because they remain the nation’s largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research, and because they source corporate sponsorships to fund their overhead, so that 100% of your donation goes directly toward the mission instead of administrative expenses. Last year we were able to raise over four thousand dollars, and the majority of that was $10 and $20 from regular people, like you. Together we will all be able to do much more to further the goal of The Lustgarten Foundation- transforming pancreatic cancer into a curable disease- than I ever could alone.
Thank you!
