for Team Ann in memory of my wife and her sister—and in support of my sister-in-law
I am participating in Lustgarten’s Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research at Jones Beach as captain of Team Ann who passed away from pancreatic cancer.
More recently, Ann’s sister also lost her life to this devastating disease. And today, a third sister is still battling pancreatic cancer, three years after being diagnosed at an earlier stage. Her journey reminds us how important early detection, better treatments, and continued research are.
Our family has experienced the heartbreak of pancreatic cancer in ways I never could have imagined. I walk to honor Ann and her sister, to support the sister who is still fighting, and to help create a future where other families do not have to endure the same losses.
I believe that with continued research, earlier detection, and better treatments, pancreatic cancer can become a curable disease.
