Yvette was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the winter of 2024 at the young age of 57.  Married for 38 years to Manny and with 2 adult children Christopher & Matthew.  She was born and raised in Long Island where she also raised  her family. 

Yvette worked as a court reporter for the Queens District Attorney’s Office where she continued to work while undergoing chemotherapy and later radiation. Due to her illness she eventually had to retire.

Yvette was so feisty and fierce even though I am a nurse I truly thought she would beat this. Her spirits were always up even when we went to see her in the hospital a week before she passed away.

I could not stop crying and she was  comforting me. She never put herself first and was concerned about what her passing would do to Manny, Christopher and Matthew.  

She did everything on her own terms. She kept her diagnosis to her immediate family and  a few people she was close to. I was lucky to be one of those people. I will admit it was difficult not to share with my family, but I always honored her wishes. 

She battled pancreatic cancer for 15 months and gave it one hell of a fight.  It has only been 3 months since she passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.  She will forever by my hero she died with dignity and grace.  I will forever miss her.
