Renee Sweezy - My Mom

Friday 7th Aug

When I was 16 years old, my world changed forever. In 2012, I lost my mother Renee Sweezy, to pancreatic cancer.

My mom was the heartbeat of our home. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel special, offering warmth, wisdom, and an unconditional love that still guides me today. Losing her taught me just how precious our time with the people we love truly is, and how important it is to cherish every single day.

Pancreatic cancer is a quiet and relentless disease, often leaving families with far too little time to process, hope, and heal. But while cancer may have taken her presence from my life, it could never touch the impact she left on me.

I share her story today not just to honor her memory, but to help light the way for others. Every dollar raised, every story shared, and every bit of research funded brings us one step closer to earlier detections, better treatments, and more time for families faced with this diagnosis.

Thank you for being here, for supporting this cause, and for helping me keep my mother’s loving spirit alive in the fight against cancer.
