Syracuse Walk

I'm fundraising for...

Hi Everyone,
Earlier today, September 5, the family of Kathy Jones had a Memorial Mass & service. Kathy died 2 weeks ago of Pancreatic Cancer. Kathy is the sister of my friend, Ann, who battled this disease for 14 months & passed away at the age of 65. Their sister, Marilyn, is currently battling this horrible disease.
Three siblings, one family. Leaving two siblings to ponder their future fate with this disease.
I am walking the Pancreatic Cancer Walk on October 3, here in Syracuse. Ann's husband & family & now the families of Kathy, will be taking part in this Walk on Long Island. Team Ann Syracuse, made the 2026 Postcard for the Pancreatic Walk! Last year, Team Ann Long Island, raised $8,000!!
It's really personal for me now! I am asking for your support in helping to fund research for this now incurable disease. There are some promising drug therapies in clinical trial to help extend the life of those now suffering with Pancreatic Cancer. Ann was a true warrior, battling this disease with radiation & chemo therapies, along with immunotherapy. Ann died peacefully at her home after a challenging fourteen-month battle, surrounded by her constant source of strength, her husband, Sheldon. Kathy courageously refused these treatments, passing away after a short battle of two months. She also was at home surrounded by her husband & family. Marilyn has been battling this disease for over a year. She also chose radiation & immunotherapy. She is in clinical trial for one of the new drugs.
The Lustgarten Foundation was created to advance the research related to the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of pancreatic cancer while raising public awareness and providing support for patients and their families.
Pancreatic cancer was allocated less than half of one percent of the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) research budget. With no additional funding, few young investigators opted to dedicate their careers to the study of the disease and there was little hope for breakthroughs. Your support of the Lustgarten Foundation helps pave the way for advancements in earlier detection, new drug development, and personalized medicine. Donate with confidence knowing your gift supports life-saving pancreatic cancer research.

I hope you will consider donating & supporting me as I walk in honor of my friend, Ann, her sisters, Kathy & Marilyn along with my other friend Ann's mother, Mary.

Thanks for your consideration!
Tom
