Boston Walk

We're fundraising in memory of Lou Mattuchio

BOSTON WALK - Sept 27, 2026

Lou was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June 2024. As we walked back to our car from Dana-Farber, he shared his plan to fight this for as long as he could. He always remained positive, regardless of the chemotherapy side effects or scan results. Lou was even well enough to walk with our team in last year's event, which was one of our best days. Meeting so many other pancreatic cancer warriors—some five years or more post-diagnosis—was truly empowering. He found a community there and kept in touch with several of them throughout the year.

Recent scans revealed that his cancer had metastasized to his lungs. Despite this, he remained in good spirits as he transitioned into hospice care. He had fought so hard and was at peace with this decision.

Lou passed away peacefully on June 25th.

Team Mattuchio  is participating in the Lustgarten Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research to celebrate the progress that has been made and to power tomorrow's research. Please support our team and embrace Lustgarten's vision of transforming pancreatic cancer into a curable disease. Join our team, donate, and provide hope to the thousands of families touched by this devastating disease.

Why Lustgarten? They are the nation’s largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research. Thanks to separate funding for administrative expenses, 100% of your fundraising and donations go directly toward research led by Lustgarten and powered by you. With your support, we will raise more money for research advancements than we ever could alone.
