Why I walk...
Alisa was a kind, loving, peaceful soul. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, niece, sister, friend, teacher and social worker. She touched the lives of so many and made everyone a better person for knowing her. She was taken from us all too soon. Please donate to Team Alisa and the Milford Lustgarten Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
In 2013 my wife, Alisa Macone, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had several excisions, went through chemotherapy and radiation treatment, and her cancer went into remission. In 2014 my family started "Team Alisa" in NH for the Relay For Life.Â
In December of 2016 Alisa was diagnosed with late stage pancreatic cancer and was given 6 to 12 months left to live. We were shattered and overwhelmed with the news, but waited until after the holidays to let everyone know. On May 2, 2017 I told Alisa and heard her say "I love you" for the last time before she went on a ventilator in the hospital. Only 5 months after her diagnosis, she passed away on May 11, 2017 surrounded by family and friends.
My brother David started the CT chapter of Team Alisa for the Milford Lustgarten Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research in her honor. If you are able to donate any amount, it would be greatly appreciated. I want to find a cure so no one has to go through the absolutely devastating and soul crushing experience I had to. Let's make this year, the year we end pancreatic cancer!!
