About our Hero, Captain Phil 'Fud' Pinto

Captain Philip A. Pinto Jr., affectionately also known as "Fud", was a member of the Eastchester Fire Department and dutifully served his community for over 32 years.
Phil was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer in February of 2021. His illness resulted from his service at Ground Zero during and following the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center. Though he fought with dignity, strength, and tenacity, Phil ultimately lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on January 8, 2022 at a shy 54 years old.
Captain Fud's Fighters will honor Phil's memory and raise funds & awareness for pancreatic cancer research through the Lustgarten Foundation. It is the wish of Phil's family & friends that no other individual or family should have to suffer a loss to pancreatic cancer.
